Meet Our Doctor

A. Collins Villamore, M.D.

"It is a privilege to walk alongside patients and their families during one of life's most meaningful journeys. Our goal is to provide comfort, preserve dignity, and ensure that no family walks this path alone."

A. Collins Villamor, M.D.
Medical Director, Neighborhood Hospice

My passion for hospice medicine began during my Internal Medicine training, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges many patients and families face at the end of life. Too often, I saw patients spend their final days undergoing aggressive treatments that did not reflect their wishes or provide the comfort they deserved. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate my career to hospice care.

Determined to provide a different kind of care, I completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and became Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care. During my training, I commuted three hours each way from Connecticut to New York because I believed the opportunity to learn from exceptional mentors was worth every mile. That commitment continues to shape the care I provide today.

Over the past decade, I have served patients through several hospice organizations, primarily throughout the Valley. Those experiences have shown me what exceptional hospice care looks like—and where our healthcare system can do better. They inspired me to create Neighborhood Hospice with a clear purpose: to deliver compassionate, personalized care that places patients and families at the center of every decision.

As Medical Director, I have assembled a carefully selected team of professionals who share that vision. By maintaining manageable patient caseloads, our team has the time to build meaningful relationships, educate families, answer questions, and provide the compassionate support every patient deserves.

At Neighborhood Hospice, our mission extends beyond caring for patients. We are committed to educating our community about hospice, palliative care, and advance care planning so that individuals and families can make informed decisions with confidence, dignity, and peace of mind.

Our Philosophy of Care

Get to Know Us

Neighborhood Hospice provides compassionate care in Phoenix and its surrounding areas. It is locally owned and operated by a Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience  and a Physician who is trained and certified in Hospice and Palliative Care. A labor of love that grew out of the desire to provide what is lacking in the local hospice industry.

We have assembled a team of professionals who are passionate about hospice and share a philosophy of providing excellent care for those eligible for hospice.

A Team Chosen with Purpose

At Neighborhood Hospice, exceptional care begins with exceptional people.

Dr. A. Collins Villamor has personally selected each member of our team for their clinical excellence, compassion, integrity, and dedication to serving patients and families during one of life's most important journeys.

We believe hospice care is more than providing medical services—it is about building meaningful relationships, listening with compassion, educating families, and honoring every patient's wishes with dignity and respect.

Our team intentionally maintains manageable patient caseloads, allowing us to spend more time where it matters most: at the bedside, supporting patients, answering questions, and walking alongside families every step of the way.

Together, we are committed to creating a culture of excellence while helping transform the local hospice community through education, compassionate care, and unwavering advocacy for patients and their loved ones.
